Pros and cons of SwimIO - Swim Fitness app for iPhone and iPad
SwimIO - Swim Fitness app good for
I really love this app and use it to track both my individual training and my club practices. You can enter the number of lengths you swam, the stroke(s), and duration but itd be great if you could specify the sets a bit more (not just 400 m free but 4x100 free on 1:05 or something like that). Also I guess the amount of calories burned isnt entirely accurate but thats not really that important to me anyway.
The challenge part of the app where you have to complete certain distances is kinda cool if youre into long distance swimming but I havent used it so far.
Itd be great if there were some workout suggestions for non-distancers to choose from, though.
I think this App helps quiet a lot to stay motivated to your weekly or monthly goals. Indeed I am a Big Fan of the goals, both the distance And map goals.
The only critic is for me the Big difference at the distance goals from beginner to advanced.
It would be amazing to Even create your own plans for the next couple of Weeks with the nice Support of the app by Setting it down to several Challenges growing by strengh during the End of it.
Hope to See such a Update soon.
It is such a great app to have as a swimmer and I am so interested in how far I swim now with this app. A wonderful tool to have!
Track swims, learn how to swim better, and GREAT customer service. I have never written an app review before, but the service I got when my pool wasnt in the app yet was amazing. Its there now and done with personalized service. Thanks, Speedo Fit!
Super helpful app! Also the Customer Service was phenomenal! Contacted one of the reps during the holidays to please add the pool that I swim at. Not long ago I received an email explaining that, due to the overload of requests, mine has not gone unnoticed. Within a week I was able to add the pool that I frequent to my favourites. Now THAT is service! :) (thank you Jamie Buck!)
Keep up the good job, guys!
The application is a great way to track your progress and to set goals for yourself, whether tailored to your own swimming schedule or pre-fab from Speedo. It works well on iPhone5.
Some bad moments
Clean and simple, easy-to-use interface. Selected a training program "Swim Further (farther?)", but cant change start date? Cant customize anything? Way too cumbersome to actually add sets. Can only add number of laps.
Overview/dashboard needs improvement.
Definitely not enough to keep using the app.
100% bugs on every single feature. Not a single thing works. Nice job to your reputation here speedo.
Keep it simple. The visual design is great, but the code doesnt work. Heres why: You are trying to do to much with the resources assigned to this project. DO NOT try to catalog every swimming pool in the world and make it very difficult to add a workout if the pool is not in the database. There is a great 50 meter pool in Eugene, Oregon named Amazon that is not in the database. It is the best pool within 200 miles. Everyone knows this except for Speedo! Let people enter there own pools. Make sure that a workout that took place THREE DAYS AGO can be entered and updated ANY TIME. Again, KISS.
1) Overview doesnt show all swims and when you click on a day where it seems you dont have a swim logged, surprise the swim you actually completed shows up. 2) Couldnt edit a swim to record sets. 3) The feedback feature under tools bombs out the app. Other than those problems, I love the app. Also, it would be nice if when you logged a swim it gets recorded to the Misfit activity log. I deleted a swim on Misfit because it got recorded as basketball, so when I logged a swim in Speedo app, I didnt get credit.
Used to be a great app. Now its just horrible. Havent been able to log my swims for a couple of months now. Always says "Service Update. Were having a few problems with the service. Weve been notified of the problem and are busy fixing it." My phones always updated so I dont know whats happening.
Speedos prior app was much better. Each work out contained a drill set which was linked to actual videos of the drills. These workouts have no drill set. A handful of videos are available elsewhere in the app but they are very basic and, as not integrated into the work out, are cumbersome to use. I recommend finding a different app.
